"I replaced distributor and rotor on my 86 4.3 V6. The rotor was hell to get off,the shaft was rusted, and it appeard moisture was getting in. I have 2 questions, 1, did I knock anything out of wack with all the prying and stuff, 2, should I use permatex to form a gasget for the distributor cap."

"You do not need to permetex t

"You do not need to permetex the cap. Clean the rust off but dont let the dust get into the guts. After the shaft is clean, apply a slight coating of greese.
Some prying should not hurt anything."

I bought the tune up kit throu

I bought the tune up kit through this site and hope they do good and send me one. Also I asume that the vent in cap is just a vent? It looks like hose would fit on it but there is none there.And again thanks for all the help.
