Disconnecting oil pump 30 hp mec

I have a 2002 mec 30hp and the model number is 1031311ZD. The oil pump is leaking. I just got it back from the shop and they put a new oil line and check valve in the oil line. I can see oil hanging from the under side of the pump. I had it cleaned up and it dripping again. What do I have to do to disconnect this system? Can I cap off the oil inlet ( if so how using oil and gas resitant parts?), drain the oil tank and disconnect oil level alarm and premix my gas at 50 to 1 ? If I remove to pump, do I have to remove the gear/pin assembly that drives the oil pump and then cap off the opening? Removing the pump, will this create a air leak into the block area or is there another seal behind the gear/pin drive assembally. I don't care about resale of the motor and having the oil pump attached. Just looking for the easiest, safest way to keep the engine running by removing this leaking oil pump and by-pass the oil pump. I would feel better about mixing my gas anyway and always add a touch more oil because it's cheaper that a replacement motor.

Get the shop to fix the problem that was brought in for. If they are reputable they will do so with no further expense to you. It is not a great idea to add oil to the gas, as it can cause a build up and cause engine failure. Don't let the shop bamboozle you. I would have the mechanics head that didn't fix the problem.
