DIP stick 1986 260

I have 1986 260 alpha replacement block . The dip stick and tube is in the upper half of the engine . I been all over trying to find one or a part # . Person I got the block from has not really helped me . I do not want to be stuck ? Any sugestions ? I have tryed a few auto ones and no luck .

Is it a new or reman. block? Ask the guy that sold it to you what year it is.

Ayuh,.... You're making No sense...
The SBC had the dipstick on 1 side of the block til 79, when it went to the other side of the block...
It's Never gone from low to high....

Are they both Block mounted,..??
Or, is the lower 1 you speak of Pan mounted,..??
If it's Pan mounted, you need the Merc. dipstick..."
 
well the one i need is just be

well the one i need is just be low the manifold . I m having issues finding one that will fit .
