Difference between 2008 & 2005 BF225?

Looking to repower with a 2008 BF225 from a 2005 BF225. Replacement motor is a 30" shaft while I need a 25" I plan on removing spacer and lower from newer motor and slap leg from the older motor on! Any differences on the 2008 for rigging/harnesses or design? I have twins so can't mess this up! They appear to look the same but can't find much info online. TIA!
