difference between 1000 and 1000ss

was just curious as I dont have serial plate and I know my motor is 100hp and it's around 68 69 but dont know the diff between these two. thx!

SS means "Solid State" ignition (no distributor).

SS means " solid state " and those motors sure do have a belt driven distributor !!---Heck the distributor is even shown in the pictures.
