I just let my new (used no more than 10 times) DF15 sit for about 2 months. I tried to start it up just to see if there would be any issues. Sure enough there are. The battery seems to be fully charged. Fuses are good. When I turn the key I get no "oil indicator" light and no buzzer. To me the engine is acting as if it is not getting power. Any ideas?

"Yes as far as I know the battery is fully charged. I hooked a charger op to the battery and it shows charged. I have a center consol with electric start. When I turn the key I do not get the light or buzzer, nothing happens. The boat worked fine the last time I started it. Any body have an idea of where to start? Also any idea where to get a repair manual? 2008 model motor."

engine is in neutral? spin the prop to be sure grounds are all good? test battery to confirm is ok - use a jumper wire from positive post directly to positive post on starter motor if it cranks over not the problem

"DO NOT use a jumper from starter to battery
first that will cause sparks and not good with fuel around!

You want a remote starter hooked up to the starter relay

If you have a test light, then test to see if your getting volts to the relay, then turn the key and see if your getting voltage out of it

I bet you do not have it in neutral, hook the cables up wrong and the fuse is bad"

"Should have been more specific...jump with end connected to starter post first and then touch to battery post, just long enough to see if there is enough amps to crank engine over If your batteries are close to fuel vapours..disregard and find a remote. Better yet put the battery in your vehicle and see if it cranks that over."

"I have Fiume that the wire harness connection seems to have shorted. The male pins are all blackened. I believe that no current was passing through the connector. It is a standard Suzuki part that comes as part of the side mounted control box. It has a rubber gasket but I guess water got into it. Any suggestions on how to prevent a short in the future? The way my boat is setup and the lenght of the harness, the connector lays on the deck, right where water (caught on board) passes a bench. This very susceptable to water contact."
