DF140 wont turn over new battery

"Old battery would not hold a charge. Bought a new one and replaced. Turn key and beeps, tilt/trim work but nothing from the starter...does not even nclick. Do I have to reset the ECU? Anything I'm missing here?"

"Shouldn't have to reset anything John. I've disconnected and swapped batteries with my DF140 several times without a hitch. The first thing to check is that the gear is in neutral and the kill switch button is in place. If it still won't start, check the main and sub fuse on the motor. They are located by removing the motor cover and you'll see a black plastic cover on the port side of the motor with the word "Fuses" embossed on the cover - remove that to access the fuses. I'm not a mechanic or electrician so I won't go into anything beyond this. Please let us know how it turns out.

"Found a female end I left off at ground at starter. Plugged in in, now I'm getting a click from the starter but wont turnover engine. Battery is new and fully charged. Check main 60A fuse and sub 30A. Both OK. Anything anyone?

Guages work but stereo and radio dont?"

What would cause a mo

What would cause a motor to get stuck other than a seized motor? I started last week (barely) with a weak battery. Ran great at idle on hose. Turned it off. Tried again and it dragged until it wouldn't turnover. This is when I went out for a new battery.

I'm going home today to turn the flywheel."

I'm going to pull off starter and try a bench test....anything else I may be missing? Cobia are coming into the Northern Gulf of Mexico..I'm ready to get this chum bucket out there"

We got reports thier heading West through Orange Beach from Destin. I got my bouy's picked out alrady.

Any tips with meter.

then but read lead on starter relay
got 12v
then the other side of relay, got 12v

i bet u got a loose ground!!!"
