"2003 DF 50 has difficulty get

"2003 DF 50 has difficulty getting a 17 ft skiff on plane. Once it is up on plane, it turns between 5000 and 6000 rpm. Nothing is obviously wrong. Am I overlooking something? Thanks for any input."

the cavitation plate needs to be level with the bottom of hull

thanks for the imput. the engine appears to be located reight. i did however replace the prop with one 1/4 inch less in diameter. the boat does much better with one person. I will let you know how it does with two.

"Mr. Roberts I have the same eng. on a 15.5 v hull American Skiff . I had the same Problem when I first got my boat new. The installation was not checked , and I found the throttle was only opening about half way. It never would get on step unless you had some one in the front. once I had the adjustments made ,The boat would come out like a rocket. It had a 11.5 x 13 prop., and sence then Ive uped the prop to 11.25 x 16 and still think I can go higher, Because it still jumps out the water, and turns to the rev limiter on high end, and runs about 35 mph. HOPE I done you some good."
