"I cannot turn a 23 pitch suzuki prop. It run about 400 rpm or more lower. With the 21 it will over rev easy at 3/4 throttle. Takes 4,000 to 4,400 rpm to get it on step even then it is slow to get up. I had to go to a turning point 23 pitch prop to get type of performance and fuel mileage. This is on a 22ft pacific skiff weighs about 1500 lbs with fuel,people and gear. Thanks"
 
There must be something wrong

There must be something wrong with the 21" pitch prop.Get a " good " 19" pitch prop and try again.
 
No the 21 suzuki prop is good

No the 21 suzuki prop is good the hub does not spin. A 19 pitch would over rev the motor like crazy. I have had props on other motors that have spun and the 21 has not had the symptoms. Thanks.
 
the suzuki made props are 14x2

the suzuki made props are 14x23 and 14x21. The turning point prop is 13 1/4 x23.
I can turn 6200 rpm with the turning 23.
With the suzuki 21 pitch it will over rev and with the 23 it will only turn 5200 rpm if my notes from last year are right. I have tried moving the motor up and down with no luck. I still have a problem with gas getting in the oil. Have put the hotter thermostat in.It use fuel like crazy. Thanks Tom

I did a comp test and here they are from top to bottom.
190 psi
170 psi
180 psi
210 psi
I will spray some oil in and check again but it does not look good does it. Thanks Tom
 
Spun the motor without the plu

Spun the motor without the plugs and heard a clanking type noise near the valves. Gonna have to send it in.
