"I need some advice...

I have a 25 foot Glastron boat I'm trying to restore. It came with a 30 year old Volvo 270 outdrive and no engine, I have an OMC cobra transom kit from an old boat I junked, I figure there is a SX kit to adapt to the OMC transom. I'm going to get a new engine regardless. Which outdrive should I use? How different is the cutout for the volvo than the cutout for the OMC? Which is better and why?

"'76 V-195 was a pretty cool boat, My neighbor had one like that when we were kids, it was a great ski boat.

Mine is a 1976 V-253 sport cruiser. I'll try to get some pictures up later. I think it also had a 302 in it. I'm not totally sure about that though. I have lots of experience getting my old OMC working. I have no experience with volvos, is this a good outdrive? Is it still pretty easy to find parts? I guess it couldn't be much worse than finding OMC parts."
