Dead in water part 2

After I got my boat home I noticed I had no spark. I separated the two switch boxes to see if wires were loost. I hit the remote button and noticed I had spark. I put the hose to it and the motor started up. I put the two back together and it killed the spark. I switched one box with one I had and the motor starts and runs but ther is still some electricity running across those boxes. I can feel it in my damp fingers. I think as the rpms increase this is shorting out the system. Any suggestions as to what is going on? I have had several posts about this motors poor performance sine I got it. It has seemed like it could be electrical all along. Poor idle, misfires, somtimes it runs good an some times horrible.

You should add this to your other thread and keep them together and concise...since it's the same problem.

Is this a Sears OB or Klondike II? Disconnect the pflugerhaggen switch and see if it backfires.
