DC Inverter to AC

Floatation Device

I have bought two inverters trying to avoid running my genny just for the kids to watch TV on beautiful days. TV pulls about 2.5 amps. 1st inverter is a 400 w continuous, 2nd is a 800 watt continuous. Both inverter breakers trip when turning on the flat screen. Any experience with inverters and TVs? Will run the DVD player & laptop with no problem.

TV has a start up surge current . I have seen this before. Another reason in addition is small guage wires to the 12 volt feed of these inverters ..

make sure the connections are secure / solder any connectors. use 10 guage wire . this will draw 25 amps dc Input , @320 watts ac output..
the 400 watt is too small... 800w should work ,
