Data tag question

I just picked up a 1977 Glastron V-212 parts boat for free, it came with a Glastron 190 HP engine (marinized 302 Ford)and a glastron badged Volvo 280 outdrive. The data tag on the outdrive does not appear to have ever been stamped, but the casting dates are from 1987, so obviously the outdrive was replaced. Is it common for replacements to not have any info on the tag? Either way, I'm stoked the oil looked like new when I drained it, and every bolt has come out with my fingers after breaking loose. I was just curious about the blank tag, even the gear ratio is blank.

With exception to the E drive, all transmissions (the upper gear unit) will offer the same gear reduction.
The actual over-all reduction change (sum of both upper/lower) occurs within the lower gear unit.

Remove the propeller.
Remove the ring anode.
Wire brush the AFT-most end of the bearing carrier casting.
The ratio (reduction) will be stamped into the carrier.
You should see either 2.15, 1.89 or 1.61 stamped into it.
Add the :1 and you'll have the over-all reduction.
Example........ 2.15:1, 1.89:1 or 1.61:1

It's a 1.61 I've just never seen a completely blank tag before. The boat is a 77 I'd imagine it was originally a 270 drive?
