These miserable little critters have been really bad this summer. My 32 Marinette was not only slow this summer, it was noisy and exhibited excessive vibration at the stern during cruise. Figuring it was barnacles on the props, I took the putty knife over the side for some scraping but, nope, the blades were clean. I DID scrap the barnacles off the shafts, however, and it worked! THe vibration and noise are gone.
Apparently they caused turbulent water flow to the props, that cavitated and caused the racket. Learn something new all the time!
