Cylinder Head Bolts

I'm ready to install the heads on my 87 Johnson 88 HP SPL(J88MLSCUS). Do I use any type of Loctite on the head bolts.

I have the same question about the bolts that hold the inner and outer exhaust covers on. I am referring to the exhaust covers between the cylinder heads.

I have both Loctite Red and OMC's Gasket sealing compound on hand.

NO, do not ever use loc-tite on those bolts. Use either grease or gasket sealer.... the type gasket sealer that has a brush on its screw off cap.
