I members I need help,have been looking for a used head for my 1977 35hp evinrude 2 stroke. was in touch with a o/board wrecker who said he had one so I asked him to send it with new head and water cover gaskets.Anyways received on Friday and thought I would replace to day, so went a head and replace,started motor seamed ok except water cover head was leacking from gasket. Removed water cover and was about to fit with new gasket but found that the gasket was incorrect so checked the head also and found that is was from a 1992 model and not from a 1977 even thought the head fitted ok, but water cover was different and gasket for 1977 did not fit. what I need to know is if I get the correct gasket for water cover will all be ok to run. the only difference that I can see in the head is that there is a small cut-out from water channel about 1/16X1/16 for water to run into the return chamber. if any help thanks a lot.
