Crusaders moving on

Well, my boat, house, fishing and some of my dive gear is on the market. I've moving to Rochester area. Anyway, my water life was pretty much dialed in down here, with a waterfront house and boat just 5 minutes from the warm ocean, and 10 minutes, living room to gulf stream. Also, the closest US jump off point to Grand Bahama Island (boynton inlet). I'm going to miss that a lot. Looks like i'll be trading for more property, snow, and trips on the erie canal/finger lakes on my 10' Avon and kayak. Time to move on, and I'll peek in this forum occasionally as well. I love inboards, yes slower than the dual, triple, and even quads outboard installs so popular down here, but I do appreciate the "fixability", the outstanding long life (mine are 76's), the clean transom, and the lower depreciation that the inboards offer. keep ya posted. Dave

Diver-

Good luck. But there is all the "blue" water you could want just north of you. And on a nice day it is fun to jump over 10 miles out and come out of the fresh water sparkling clean. (Better leave some one on the boat, however, in case the wind comes up.) Anyway, you will soon be looking for something bigger than an Avon.

You are gonna be missed Dave. Good Luck up there, almost in the great white north. I go to SYR pretty often for business - once you get settled in, send me an email and we can get together for dinner on a trip, if you'd like.

They do dive the lakes up there but its nothing like that warm water you are used to.

Good luck, it is a nice area up there. I had friends that had a home on the lake just outside Rochester, maybe you could live on a big lake.

Best of luck to you Dave, what town will you actualy be living in? I used to live up that way in the town of Geneseo.

Dave,

It has been a real pleasure to have enjoyed your posts and comments and voice of reason. I will certainly miss you and sincerely hope you will just log in and keep up with everyone else's problems. In fact, I was always a bit envious of your abilities to just jump out into the greatest waters in the nation. Having lived in Miami and making those Bimini trips have become a distant memory. It would have to be a very important move so I do wish you luck.....again, keep in touch,............AL

Same here Dave... you were on my short list of people I would hope reply to my many questions. Best of luck in the move.

Bob
