Crusader versus Diesel and one question

Went offshore Sat. for some deep sea fishing. My 34' Luhr's (twin 454 Crusaders) burned 250 gallons of fuel, my buddies 34' Albin (single 500 HP diesel) only burned about 170. I caught one marlin, two dolphin, two tuna. He caught squat. What does it prove? The fish gods love Crusaders. I've only owned this vessel for three months. There was some oil (maybe 6 ounces) mixed with water in the bilge beneath the starboard engine. I check the oil level often (no loss). I don't see any leaks. Where could it have come from? Did the previous owner spill it?

It's hard to answer your question, but to know for sure where that oil is coming from, you can add a few onces of UV sensitive dye into the crankcase. A low cost UV light will cause any leaks to glow brightly yellow. I have some left over if you are interested.
