Crusader oil

Hi, Does anyone have 1990 454 crusaders? Crusader says
To use 30 weight oil. Does anyone use synthetic oil 30 weight? Any difference?
I would still chance every 50. I don't care about the price of synthetic.

86's here...used 20w-50 then 15w-50 fully synthetic since 87...rebuilt when hour meter exceeded 3000 hours on each engine...machinist said very little wear in the rotating assemblies...just our limited experience
 
I use Mobil One, it was used by the previous owner. I use synthetic in all my cars, generators, just about everything.
 
30 weight Synthetic Mobile one in the boat? That is what I was going to use. I run just regular 30 now. How many hours are on your Tiara?
 
Ahhh. the oil question. My 1995 454XLs have over 680 hrs. Have been using Delo 400 40W for over 7 years. Just had to rebuild stbd engine due to bad riser (long story). Rebuild shop said the engine looked like new except for the two pistons that had salt water. We are in the Florida PanHandle and it don't get cold
 
I have somewhere around 1000 hours now. I should have mentioned that I include a zinc additive for the flat tappet engine, Lucus TB Plus and I buy it at Autozone.
