I'd appreciate some idea o

I'd appreciate some idea of what it costs to do a top quality rebuild on 5 L engines. Sounds like one uses a Big Bleeping Hammer to get the risers off. How much are new manifolds/risers? We probably won't buy the boat when we find out! Thanks for your help for a newbie. Jon C.

About $1500./ 2 Grand for the Rebuild....."

I read the question to mean, What would a Machine Shop Charge to Rebuild the Motors,....

That's got Nothing to do with the Removal, Reinstallation, Nor the Accessorial components....

If you deliver the motor to the Machine Shop,...
The Bill will be in the neighborhood of the figures I stated, when you pick up the motor..."

"Better yet, buy a rebuilt long block from somebody reputable. Plenty of people rebuilding those particular motors.

"Thanks to y'all for help with Crusader rebuild. The boat is here in Mexico; I will have the engines removed at the local boat yard; they will ride to CA in our utility trailer, and be rebuilt there. The seller bought the boat (a 1984) 7 y rs. ago, it did NOT have hour meters!! I offering based on the probable need to rebuild. We'll have it surveyed in 2 weeks."
