Crusader 454 manifold and risers

I am having the manifolds and

I am having the manifolds and risers on both engines replaced. Does anyone know how many hours of labor this takes?

The boat is a Tiara 36 express

The boat is a Tiara 36 express. The access is pretty good. I am wondering if the manifolds need replacing. I dont think the see anything but antifreeze. Am I correct?

"Bondo makes a great point. It took me several weekends to do the first engine. But, circumstances were one of corrosion, age and experience. Internally, it was rather extreme. The manifolds might have looked ok, but their overall wall thickness HAD to be compromised thru the cast iron flaking away."

"Crusader flat rate is 1.5 hrs. per side (3.0 per engine), that's a bit tight. Add for draining and refilling cooling system if FWC. 8-9 hrs should be accurate for a pair of FWC engines with decent access including clean-up and test run. Corroded bolts are a whole other story.

Ted; put your FWC manifolds o

Ted; put your FWC manifolds on a 20 year replacement shedule. Any double wall salt water elbows and risers on a 4 year schedule.

"Interesting info on the manifolds, replaced risers/elbows two yrs ago but not maifolds. Boat is a 31' 1988 Tiara with 454s. The manifolds looked fine with no water trails down into them.

How can I tell if they have ever been replaced? Here is a pic of the bottom of one.

Typical rust pattern around th

Typical rust pattern around the exhaust ports. They run super hot compared to the rest of the manifold (or the engine for that matter).
