crusader 454 efi starts and immediately stalls

starts then immediately stalls when cold, (first start of the day). It starts right up after and runs great all day, no matter how many on /off cycles.
Anybody have any thoughts?

only thing that comes to mind is the pump doesn't get up to full rail pressure during the first 'prime' interval.....??? a pressure gauge will tell you better than guessing....

I like Mark's guess. Of course we are assuming that you are following the correct procedure of turning on the ignition, waiting for the two beeps and then start. If so, just try turning the ignition on for 2 seconds, turn it off and then immediately on again for 2 seconds, then start. That would give you a better shot at having full rail pressure.

I have a 98 Mariner with 454xlis. I know probably not the same but...if I clean the Dist cap\rotor and replace, she'll do the same. She only likes new Dist caps\rotor. My two cents, I may deserve change...
