Port tach stops reading at 200

Port tach stops reading at 2000 RPM regardless of engine speed. Pulled panel and reset tach for 8C 4 Pulse (was on 6P); now starboard tach goes haywire and stbd engine stalls if port engine is started. reset port tach to 6P and no change. Boat has a Judson micro synch checked fuse and it was OK. What did I do?

Sounds like bad grounds to me.

Sounds like bad grounds to me. I suggest you add some jumper wires to ground the tachs and see if that helps.

Wiring to engine snchronizer a

Wiring to engine snchronizer and volt meter on starboard engine from main panel power supply was shorted. Repaired wiring and both engines now run. Hopefully this was the only short.
