"Just purchased 6hp mariner and fired it up, running irregular,found that one coil was arcing out because of crack,so i insulated it with electrical tape and fired it back up. Motor runs quite smooth and starts real easy. Its only in a tank so i don't know what it would be like under load.
What would cause the coil to crack like it did?
Does anyone know where i could order one in QLD OZ on line?
Could the coil be reinsulated with something like Araldite and would it hold up?
