"Hello every one- I got one for ya. I bought a bayliner capri just for the in/out unit. After I already purchased the boat, I noticed a small crack in the outdrive. It is located on the left side(standing at back of boat facing outdrive) You have two collar style joints bellow the trans unit. Allows the unit to steer left/right.I guess it would be where the collars are top and bottom. The crack is going from top to bottom. It looks like this thing froze and cracked. But there is nothing in there to freeze?? Just gear oil- There is no evidence of impact. No leaks, I just dont get it. Might be a defective cast?? This engine and outdrive were like new- I mean it- used 6x's. The man bought it new in late 84, took it out on the water 1 season, had it serviced, then he died. His wife has had it on a trailer in the yard till I bought it. Hull and interior is destroyed, but everything mechanicaly is sweet. Don't know weather or not to get it heli-arked or what. any ideas???"
