Hello all.
I am fresh to the boating scene scene and just purchased my first boat. It has an older four stroke 50hp Mercury motor which is running great but I'm curious about what throttle to purchase.
The throttle at the moment will not shift to neutral and the cables seem quite worn. I've looked at some newer throttles but all seem to be electronic. The throttle I currently have seems all mechanical. Will these new ones work.
One more rookie questions. How do I run the blower prior to starting the motor. I turned the ignition and it almost started the engine. After I had it run the ignition just seemed to make a whirling sound instead of turning the motor over. Would that seem like a starter problem or is that the blower running.
Sorry for these questions and I'm sure most will shake their heads. I just don't want destroy anything prior to my first launch
