"When I purchased my 1999 BF25

"When I purchased my 1999 BF25 it came with a remote that had a trim control, a tach and a trim conrol gauge.

The BF 25 doesn't have trim conrol, I figured they were just put in every remote kit. I used the tach and it seems to work fine.

I recently brought it to a dealer for service and he told me that the tach that came with my engine is incorrect and giving false readings, when the tach is reading 2000rpm the engine is actually turning 3000rpm. He says that the kit I have is for 35-50hp models and the pulse rate is different.

I have been trying to find the correct tach for my engine and I keep seeing the one I already have as being used for my engine. The number on my current tach is HP-0243-001.

I can't find an email direct to Honda to confirm which tach I need, can anyone help out?"

I've tried two different d

I've tried two different dealers and got different answers. I finally called Honda direct in Georgia and they said they didn't know.

"I have an October 2005 Honda

"I have an October 2005 Honda tech bulletin that has the following info for the BF 25/30:
Pole--4
Pulse--2
Tach Setting--1 (Faria gauge)

Even if you don't have a Faria tach, I would think the pole and pulse information might be helpful. Just look for the corresponding setting on the back of your tach, according to mfrs suggestions.

"Thanks, I called JUST-IN-TIME's man and he cofirmed it's the wrong tach, the one I have is for 50-75hp.
