" Thanks for your help in the past Joe and Sparky. Motor is an 89 Johnson 200 hp. J200TXCEA 02272209. After carbs burned, they were replaced with 225 carbs. Initially the jets were 72"s. The motor was fouling out badly. Replaced them with 62"s, and motor ran rich with 4800 max rpm. Replaced jets with 57c"s, motor runs well and hits 5800 rpm +, a bit high. The motor had compression from 75 to 95, and now is in the shop to get remanufactured. The prop is 14 x 19 stainless Michigan match. The big question is what are the proper jets for that year powerhead and model motor, Also any suggestions on proper propping after remanufacture given the current info. "

According to the parts list 6

According to the parts list 62D is the proper high speed jet for that motor. But the carb body and the throttle body is different for the 200 and 225. I'm not sure what the difference is though.

" Thanks for the info Marci.

" Thanks for the info Marci. It gets a bit confusing. It will be interesting to see what it runs like after the remanufacture. Because the new carb set is from a 225 of unknown year, I only know that the throttle body throat is larger. The 62's had it running way too rich. Any other info you could give me on increasing the performance of that motor would be appreciated. "
