What is the correct idle RPM o

What is the correct idle RPM on a 1997 Force 40 hp with s/n of OG554779?

Will it hurt anything at 1000???

"That's a little high - would expect it to be about 750 running in a tank or on "muffs" and maybe 50-100 less when actually in the water - but the faster idle won't really "hurt" anything.
