Changing the fuel lines on my brothers 1986 75 HP Mercury Marine serial #A169243. It has 3 cylinders and 2 carbs. I went to the sports center parts place in Perry Georgia and they sold me 5/16 fuel line @ $4 a foot. Well got 4 ft and got home and started taking every thing apart. Come to fine out that it the fuel line on motor is 1/4". No big deal out $12 and not worth the ride back to Perry from my house so i ordered some from ebay today. Well i also want to replace the fuel line and bulb from the gas tank to motor and it looks to be 5/16". I see the bulb and line comes as an assembly and different size lines. So my question is will the 5/16" bulb and 5/16" fuel line be OK or should i go with the 3/8" bulb and 3/8" fuel line. All the fuel line on the motor is 1/4" and is the original fuel line and still has the date on the hose 03 10 85 PRO.
