Cooling system question1993 3cylinder evinrude

I started my evinrude outboard

I started my evinrude outboard today with muffs on. The telltale water stream was flowing out but the flow amount looked a little light to me. The last time the water pump was replaced was 3 yrs ago by the previous owner. Is it okay to take the boat out because there is a water flow from the telltale or is this too risky? I've never worked on an outboard before but am fairly familiar with this engine. Is there a way for me to check this out or should I have an outboard mechanic check it? Thank you for any advice and your help. Kevin

"hey Kevin..Take your boat out and run it until you feel thats its completely warmed up..stop the engine, take the cover off, and see if you can put your hand on the head....should be good and warm, but can keep your hand there for a short while..if to hot to touch, waterpump time..."
