"I rebuilt the water pump on a 3hp 1967 evinrude and tested the motor in a 55 gallon barrel. At an idle I see water discharge from one side of the exaust, then at approx. 3/4 throttle I see water discharge from both sides of the exhuast. When I attempt to check the heat of the powerhead with my hand the head is to hot to touch but the remainder of the block is warm but can be touched. I ran the motor about 15 mins.
Is this normal? I just want to make sure I don't sieze the motor."
