" Is it possible to convert a 1.91 geared Velvet Drive box to 1:1 or is it a major drama?

I have a 1.91 Borg Warner Velvet Drive box to sit behind a 4108 Perkins to drive a 23' displacement cruiser. The Engine/Box combination is a little bit longer than it should be for the boat, so I am considering converting the box to 1:1 by removing the extension housing. Is that possible without major expense or hassle, or should I shop around for a 1:1 box? "

" George, keep in mind that the B/W 1.91 gear reverses the actual rotation of the engine. It is the only B/W gear to do so. If you change to a 1:1 gear you will have to change the prop also. Kim "
