Converting from VRO to pre-mix

I've got a 1995 Johnson 40 hp VRO engine that I'm almost positive the VRO fuel side has gotten too weak to work anymore. I can't see sinking the price of a new VRO pump into this old engine. I intend to convert it over to a standard fuel pump, as my engine block is equipped to take one. Are all the 3 outlet pumps the same or do I need to get one in particular? If they are all the same size dimension wise I would think that any of the 3 outlet pumps would work, unless there is a dynamic fuel pressure difference between the pumps. Someone let me know if you've done it, please! Thanks!

I forgot to mention that like an idiot I managed to break the 90 degree nipple on the top of the pump. I really think putting a pre-mix pump on is going to be the most cost effective at this point.

You would use a 2 port pump on that motor.-----------The pump mounts directly over the pulse port.---------You need a pump with fuel in and a fuel out port.--------Many of the 48 hp models used that style pump.
