i just recently bought my first boat. a 1976 cajun mach 1. it had a 40hp evinrude set up with a steering wheel steer and throttle box with electric start it dosent work so i took it off and replaced it with a 1984 mercury 7.5hp. lakes around me are 10 hp max. it is tiller steer with throttle arm. my question is can i convert that to the way the other motor was with the throttle on the box and steer with the steering wheel.dont know much being my first power boat. ive been using a 12 foot aluminum boat to musky and bassfish with a trollin motor for about 7 years so any help would be appreciated. thanks
