"Thanks for your referrals. I have exhausted the on-line information at that site and my questions were not answered as to gear ratios and prop pitch. That is one source that tells me I need a different (volvo) transom shield to connect the SX to my Cobra tilt assembly. I question this requirement, but may find out otherwise when I proceed with the conversion. Does anyone know if running a lower gear ratio (numerically higher)i.e. 1.79 vs 1.6 and a higher pitch prop, say 15x17 vs 15x15 on a given engine is harmful to the engine? I am interested in efficiency and economy at low RPMs and power with economy at mid-range RPMs."
