Convert Mercury 75 to 115 HP

G'day from Down under. I met a bloke at the boat ramp today who told me that a 75 HP Mercury motor can be converted to a 115 HP by simply changing a computer chip in the motor. Can anyone throw any light on this? Or was he just having a lend of me? He claims that the 75 & 115 are the same motor?

you need to talk to a real boat mechanic which I am not but to me they look like the same engine if a 4 stroke.
