I have the V-6 229 / 165 hp crusaders in my 32' Bayliner. Its time to go through the cooling heads (signs of rusty water dripping). My question is can the heads be pulled in the boat with out pulling the engines? I am concerned with the fuel tank sides having enough room to get them off the studs. Just thought I would check before I begin.

I have been also thinking about repowering for a little more speed with 270's. Is there going to be an issue with the wiring harness or do they make an adapter for the conversion?

Thanks.

Ayuh,.... You mean the Manifolds,..??

Whether they can be removed or not, it totally different from boat to boat,...
Only an in person inspection, or at the least, Very good Pictures, is the only way to Guess.....

As for the Repowering,.....
There'll be all sorts of Wiring Harnesses, Adapters,+ Adaptations to do a swap like that.....
Probably not in a Kit form though...."

"Usually, the head AND the manifold can come off together. A bit heavy, but... Sometimes one has to loosen the manifold bolts and wedge the thing away from the head to get the rest of the head bolts off.
