I have a control box I bought to replace my old one it is a Quicksilver 16900A15, I am hoping you reference the new wires to the old wires :) thanks for any help
wires on it are
16900A15 New
Yellow/Red goes thru the Neutral switch so think it goes to my Solenoid like it did on my old one that was Yellow
Purple
Black
Tan/Blue
Yellow/Black
Black/Yellow
Red

My old had
Yellow= thru Neutral Switch that was going to Solenoid
Black= Ground
Red= went to Rectifier & Battery positive
Tan= spliced with Brown
Brown spliced with Tan
Gray= Choke
Salmon= Went to Switchbox, Kill Switch, Distributor
 
Hey Papason, Thanks for that info it helps allot, but when you look at it, I am still having trouble with the colors? for example (Black/Yellow says Shorting circuit), (Purple says Ignition Switch), I have no idea what that means? I was hoping someone could see my old wiring and tell me this wire replaces this wire.. I appreciate all input I know nothing about a boat I have learned everything from you guys or a book.
 
Black/yellow = salmon,kill circuit,red = red,charging circuit, brown splice to tan???,Grey on the old = yellow/black stripe on the new,choke.
On the old control box brown was the tach signal and on the new box,grey should be the tach signal,but you don't mention a grey wire??
Your old remote is also missing a white wire which is the 12V+ = purple on your new control box,maybe brown spliced with tan.Someone "making it work" in the old control box?
Grey on the old = yellow/black stripe on the new,choke.
Tan blue on new is temperature sender .
So to be sure,I think a couple of pics of both remote controls will be a big help.
