Control lever screw

Hi

I am trying to remove the control lever on the control box of my 89 Johnson 70hp J70tlcem. The workshop manual I have says to turn the allen screw holding the lever 3 turns and then punch out with a hammer and screwdriver.

Problem is the damn allen screw wont budge at all..... its getting to the point where its stripping the head of the screw.

Are these things meant to come out easily??? How the hell am I gonna get the thing out?

Should come out easy.-----------------You may have to resort to drilling the head off and then punching it out.

An impact driver with the correct allen head socket in it may get it out.

How you tried any penetrating oils such as kroil and a plethora of other brands. Don't forget to let it sit for a couple of minutes. Just thinking aloud...
