I'm in need of a new mercruiser control box for my 86 Wellcraft 185 elite with Mercruiser aphla 1. It's a flush mount with a square mount to gunwale. I replaced both throttle and shift cables (upper and lower shift cables) and still have a very hard to move control lever after being shifted into forward. It's very smooth and easy shifting into forward and reverse, but it seems to bind when pushing past the engagement and applying throttle. It doesn't stick, but is just hard to push. Does Mercruiser still make that model or is there an aftermarket equivilent? I do not have a model number sorry. I also have a very hard time engaging the shift lock out to use throttle without shifting transmission.
