Considering purchasing an "01 150 V-Max

I'm looking to replace my '98 115 Yamaha with an '01 150 V-Max with much lower hours and it's only been used in fresh water. I'll probably be checking it out this weekend. Any known issues with these motors that I should look for? Other than a compression test and obviously cranking it and seeing how it runs, anything else to check for? Seller has replaced the motor with a 4-stroke, so this motor is on a stand, so I can't take it for a test run. The price is more than fair and the motor looks very well cared for, and I've been told I can see all of the records for regular yearly service and can even go speak with the mechanic that has always done the maintenance work on the motor. The motor is 6 hours away from me, so I want to cover all of my bases before I head out to go get it. Also, just curious, if I'm running 40 MPH at WOT with a 115, what should I expect top end speed to be with the 150? Yeah, I know increased weight will be a factor, and I'm not necessarily looking for a race boat, but just in case one of my sons tries to pass me in his boat, I want to know what my chances are of outrunning him!
