I recently posted about excess condensation in my engine causing the oil to turn to milk shake. I fixed that by a couple of oil changes but now I'm concerned about excess condensation in my fuel tank. Is there any way of getting rid of the water? I'm little concerned about the boat breaking down becasue of it but even more I'm concerned about the tank corroding and rusting out. That is one expensive fix I don't want to go through on this boat. In my cars I use HEET products but that might or might not work. In my boat, for the winter, I fill the tank and used the green Marine Stabil that's supposed to fight the effects of ethanol and water build up but I have yet to see a test if it really works.
Any other suggestions? Run the tank dry and try and clean it out my only option? Will running the boat take care of the problem since water will go to the lowest point in the tank and hopefully get sucked out into the water/fuel seperator?
BTW I do use a water/fuel seperator filter and I am due to change it, but if you get enough water in your tank it can over whelm the filter.
