I have a 84' evinrude 115t

I have a 84' evinrude 115tlcrd and was wandering what the ideal compression readings would be.
I would also apprieciate any possible ways to improve performance and speed capabilities of this engines. Thanks for the advice people.

Compression should be in the 1

Compression should be in the 100 psi range and even on all cylinders. What readings do you have?

Scoring probably due to a foul

Scoring probably due to a fouled carburetor that would result in a lean cylinder.

You have a 30 psi difference between the lowest and highest compression reading (not good). Running the engine will only make things worse.

I suggest tearing it down now.... overhaul.

"yep....however...a good de-ca

"yep....however...a good de-carb..may help......stuck rings!..prob not,due to scoring...if it still runs decent,...try it..any,scoring,is not good,...."
