hi folks
FACT OR FICTION.....
Older Mercury 25hp 2-stroke outboards often feature small compression relief holes located near the exhaust ports to ease pull-starting.?
If no, then what are these for holes for?
If yes then which of these are the compression relief holes? Im guessing 2 and 4 ? 4 was blocked with carbon, and ive cleared it out, however not sure if i have done it all the way through as my drill bit stops maybe 1/2 inch in. Hole number 2 is clear all the way through, drill bit only stops when i move top piston up. Holes 1 and 3 go in maybe 3/4 inch then a solid stop. All answers appreciated
