"I've owned this motor since 1989 on a Stratos 201 Pro XL new. 2 years ago, I had it rebuild and recently put a new lower unit on it. I checked the compression on all cyclinders this week and they were all the same @ 75psi. Is this too low? The motor runs and idles good, but not like it did when new. any help would be appreciated. Top speed is 55mph at 5500 rpm. Thanks"

"Normally the compression on the starboard bank is 95 psi with the port bank being 90 psi. Try another gauge as they do vary somewhat.

ASctually 75 psi would be considered low, but as above, double check with another gauge."
