Compatible Parts for 1966 80hp Johnson V4SL-18C

Hello,

I recently bought a boat with the above, 80hp V4SL-18C. Right now the only issue is that the motor only runs when carb cleaner is being sprayed in. I am going to start with cleaning out the Carb and replacing the gaskets. I have ordered replacement gaskets but I noticed that I cannot find a full replacement Carb. From my searches, the 80hp motor is pretty rare and isnt included in many of the parts catalogs. Does anyone know what cross-compatibility there may be with other motors? Also, is there anything else that could be causing it to have issues running? Im thinking I may also need to replace any of the fuel hoses. thanks!
 
Not a rare motor.----The C at the end means nothing as far as finding the parts.-----Post the actual compression values here.-----Does spark jump a gap of 5/16" on each lead.-----Many parts from the earlier 62 to 68 V-4 model 75 HP are compatible as far as the fuel system is concerned
 
Perfect, thank you. I am actually picking it up this weekend so Ill be able to tell spark, they did test the compression and its 130, 120, 130, 120. Seems good to me? Nice to hear that its not rare. Do you recommend any other places to buy parts? The only site Ive found so far that even has Pre-1968 johnson parts is this one
 
oh really? I guess I just assumed if I couldnt find them online then they just werent available anymore. Ill have to look into it more once I pick up the boat, Im guessing ill need more parts at some point
