I have a 1979 100hp johnson outboard. I'm doing a complete overhaul and found some carbs from a 1979 140hp johnson for cheap. They look identical. I'm wondering if they will give me any bump in hp over my 100hp motor. Anything else to change to convert to these carbs? Thank you for your time."
 
will the powerhead from a 1979

will the powerhead from a 1979 115 johnson bolt on to my 1979 100 johnson lower unit. And can I use all of my wiring and carbs? Thank you for your answers.

"can someone tell me if there is a cross-reference of parts that would tell me what parts from different year motors that would fit on my 1979 johnson 115hp powerhead. Specifically, I'm looking for some 115hp carbs and I'm guessing that there are other years that would work other than just 1979. maybe anything 1979-1984??? Also, will these bolt onto the 100hp carb silencer that mounts to the front of the carbs? Thank you in advance"

most or all v4 crossflow have 3.5" bore."
