I have a 1999 25hp johnson,it came with a single lever control box.
The control box on my boat is a twin lever.
Would the single and twin lever cables be interchangeable?
I intend replacing the cables because the old ones are not really adjustable because of weather exposure and age.
The single lever box came with cables, but they are 3ft too short, but the engine end of the cables are a match for the twin lever box cables.
It would be quite a job to remove the twin lever box to check the cables at that end.
If I use the single lever box,I would have to make a new base plate etc in the boat.(the boat is fibreglass)
The engine is a pull start with no ignition or wiring.
