cmpression test

I would pull both spark plugs, put the pressure gauge in one of them, and give it a pull. Then switch and repeat. If you can't get a good reading from that then try leaving the plug in the opposite cylinder. Make sure to have the kill switch on "off" to avoid damage to the ignition system.

how do you preform a compression test on an two cylinder pull start ?

I suspect you're asking how one would physically do that procedure with a rubber tipped gauge that one must hold in the spark plug hole. If so... I suggest that you purchase a gauge that is threaded and just screw it into the plug hole.

Remove both spark plugs and ground the plug wires
Install (threaded) gauge in a plug hole
Pull rope repeatedly until the gauge reading doesn't go any higher.
Read results
Repeat on other cylinder.

Do not add oil---that's cheating
No need to block throttle open on a two-stroke, but do it on a 4-stroke.
